Pop-Up Palooza at Hamden Public Schools, CT

The team at Hamden Public Schools, CT teamed up with the Hamden High School administrators for a special Lunch with Leadership, featuring four different Pop Up concepts! It was a wildly successful day, with student participation up 10%, or approximately 140 meals above average. The students enjoyed being served from The Melted Mac Factory, Ciabatta Sams, Tot Spot, and Yard Bird, as well as a Ramen Bar special at Five Spice.

HHS administrators who took the time to serve lunch include Eric Jackson – HHS Principal; Melissa Richardson – Quinnipiac House Principal; Lisa Dyer – Whitney House Principal; Scott Trauner – Washburn House Principal; Tegan Willis – Sleeping Giant House Principal; Lamond Battle – HHS Supervisor of Security; Chris Cagle – HHS Environmental Specialist.

The Lunch with Leadership Program provides an opportunity for school leadership to serve the lunch lines and promote the vital role school nutrition plays in overall student success throughout the day in and out of the classroom. District and school leaders can uniquely help promote healthy school meals and the nutritional benefits that help students maximize their health and performance in the classroom and in their extracurricular activities.

Congratulations to the Hamden team on a great promotion that brought together students and their administrators over a school lunch to remember!
