Whitsons Receives Aging Innovative Achievement Award...

Whitsons Culinary Group was recently honored to receive the “Aging Innovative Achievement Award.” Presented to Michael Whitcomb by the New York City Department for the Aging (“DFTA”), the award was given to Whitsons by DFTA in recognition of Whitsons’ contributions to the success of DFTA’s Bronx Senior Options and Mid-Bronx Senior Citizen Council delivered meal programs.

The award bestowed on Whitsons was one of two Aging Innovative awards presented to DFTA at the 32nd National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) Conference, acknowledging DFTA’s leadership in developing and implementing innovative meal programs. The programs were developed in conjunction with Whitsons and have transformed the New York City area homebound meal programs through the introduction of frozen meals to program participants. These innovative new programs provide area seniors with additional menu choices and the added convenience of choosing when and where to prepare and eat their meals.
