Whitsons’ Bob Whitcomb Wins 2009 IFMA Silver Plate...
The International Foodservice Manufacturers Association has released the 2009 winners of its Silver Plate awards and we are proud to announce that Robert Whitcomb, Chairman and CEO of Whitsons Culinary Group has been selected as this year’s award recipient in the Business & Industry category.For the past 55 years, the IFMA Silver Plate awards have recognized operational excellence and industry achievement and is considered one of the industry’s highest honors.Along with eight other honorees in other industry segments, Bob’s formal inauguration into the Silver Plate Society will take place on Monday, May 18, at a banquet hosted by IFMA at the National Restaurant Association Hotel-Motel Show. At that time, one Gold Plate winner, chosen from amongst the nine honorees, will also be announced.Whitsons Culinary Group is a family-owned business that has been in operation for thirty years. We operate on-site dining programs for business and industry, school nutrition programs and residential care facilities throughout the Northeast. We also provide delivered meals for senior citizens and day care programs, and our Culinary Development division produces private-label food products. With over $100 million in sales we are one of the largest food service management providers in the region, serving approximately 350,000 meals daily, and employing a work force of over 2,000.
