Whitsons Culinary Group Acquires Lintons Food Service Management

Expanding Wholesome Foods and Personalized Services into New Communities

Whitsons Culinary Group® is pleased to announce that we have acquired Lintons Food Service Management, based in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. The acquisition enables Whitsons to further expand existing business lines in the healthcare, residential and education industries, in a variety of settings, including schools, long-term care facilities, hospitals and community and public health facilities.

Whitsons and Lintons share in the belief that food nourishes the body and mind and were both founded on the principles of dedication and personalized service.

Lintons’ foundation and experience in providing successful food service programs dates back to 1890 when the Lintons Food Service Company of Philadelphia was founded by Isaiah Linton. In its 132 years of operations, Lintons established 26 restaurants in convenient neighborhood locations to provide superior personalized customer service, and now has food service operations ranging from Pennsylvania to Florida.

Whitsons Culinary Group began in 1979, when Elmer and Gina Whitcomb purchased a pair of restaurants in Garden City, New York and set out to start a family business they could leave as a legacy to their nine children. Over the years, Whitsons has grown from those small family restaurants to become the 15th largest food service management company and the fourth largest K-12 food service operator in the United States. Today, Whitsons is among the nations’ largest and most innovative food service companies.

The unique synergies among our two organizations provide a natural fit for us to further deliver on our mission of Enhancing Life One Meal at a Time™ together. We are excited to have Lintons become a Whitsons family company!
